Holiday Grants – Funding Recreational Trips for Children

The Holiday Grants programme supports children aged 13 and under who experience inequity, financial hardship, or have disabilities, enabling them to participate in fun and enriching one-off trips. The programme prioritises activities that offer new experiences, such as camping, adventure outings, or seaside visits, for groups organised by schools, youth organisations, and non-profits.

Programme Details at a Glance

  • Grant Amount: £500 to £2,750 per trip
  • Eligible Activities: Day or residential trips (up to 7 days) focused on recreation and fun, excluding high-cost destinations (e.g., theme parks) or those with educational or religious aims
  • Priority Focus:
    • Children living in areas within the UK’s top 20% of deprivation
    • Groups with children who have disabilities, considering both deprivation levels and access needs
  • Eligibility: Schools, youth groups, and not-for-profit organisations operating in the UK (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales)
  • Deadlines: Applications must be submitted at least 5 weeks before the trip date.
  • Decision Timeline: Up to 5 weeks for a decision.
